SUMMARY:8th Annual Scarecrow Classic 5K
DESCRIPTION:The Scarecrow Classic 5K is celebrating its 8th year running! T
 his wonderful community event benefits Lincoln Land Conservation Trust\, s
 upporting our land conservation and stewardship mission\, as well as our e
 ducational programming.\n\nThis year\, the Scarecrow Classic will look a l
 ittle different.  Our highest priority is the safety of the community. Th
 erefore\, we are offering two ways to participate in the  2020 Scarecrow 
 Classic 5K.\n\nOn Sunday\, October 18th\, 2020\, we will offer a limited 
 in-person race\, with social distancing strictly enforced. Runners and wal
 kers will sign up for a start time and run or walk the course in a small c
 ohort. There will be no party afterwards.\n\nIn the week leading up to Oct
 ober 18th\, (October 11-18)  we will also offer a virtual race option. W
 e'll mail participants their Scarecrow Classic Shirt and they can run anyw
 here and anytime!  Virtual participants can submit their unofficial times
  and encouraged to share photos of their run on social media. To avoid con
 gestion on the trails and road safety concerns\, participants are discoura
 ged from running the "traditional" race route\, and instead can explore ot
 her trails and roadside paths in town or beyond.\n\nPlease note that if pu
 blic safety recommendations change\, we may pivot to a totally virtual rac
 e for all participants at short notice. In-person participant registration
 s will automatically transfer to the virtual race. \n\nA big shout out as
