DESCRIPTION:Are Our Rivers Healthy? Tackling Pollution Past\, Present and F
 uture\nHow do we understand what makes the Sudbury River healthy? Alison F
 ield-Juma\, the Executive Director of OARS\, the watershed organization fo
 r the Sudbury\, Assabet\, and Concord Rivers\, will give a lively presenta
 tion exploring how river health is evaluated and communicated to the commu
 nity. She will also touch on river pollution\, including contaminants such
  as mercury and PFAS\, and the interplay between river ecosystems and the 
 impacts of climate change.\nThis is a free program and all are welcome.

 er Here.\nAlison Field-Juma is Executive Director of OARS\, the watershed 
 organization for the Sudbury\, Assabet and Concord(SuAsCo) Rivers\, which 
 she joined in 2005. She is Vice-Chair of the SuAsCo Wild &amp\; Scenic Riv
 er Stewardship Council\, serves on the Board of Directors of the 495/Metro
 West Partnership\, on the Advisory Committee of the MetroWest Conservation
  Alliance\, and chairs the Aquatic Invasives Management Subcommittee of th
 e SuAsCo Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA). Prior to jo
 ining OARS\, Alison was Director of the Environmental Governance Programme
  of the African Centre for Technology Studies and a researcher at the Worl
 d Agroforestry Centre\, both in Nairobi\, Kenya. Alison holds an MSc in Na
 tural Resource Policy and Planning from Cornell University\, a BSc in Biol
 ogy from Tufts University\, and is Municipal Climate Vulnerability Prepare
 dness certified. She is leading the formation of a SuAsCo Climate Resilien
 cy Coalition in which Lincoln is participating. Alison spent her childhood
  staring at the Charles River out her bedroom window\, when she wasn’t r
 unning around in the forest climbing trees.\n&nbsp\;
