SUMMARY:Moth Walk with Avalon Owens
DESCRIPTION:Join Avalon Owens for a nocturnal insect walk.\n\nAvalon and he
 r team have been conducting research in Pigeon Hill this summer. We'll mee
 t after dark to hear about their experimental design\, what insects they'v
 e been finding\, and why dark skies are so important for wildlife\, partic
 ularly nocturnal insects.\n\nMore details and parking information emailed 
 to registered participants. This is a free program\, but space is limited.
 \n\nAvalon Owens holds a PhD in Biology from Tufts University\, and has st
 udied fireflies in Lincoln for many years. This walk is a continuation of 
 LLCT’s efforts to offer educational opportunities to the community on li
 ght pollution and its impacts on Lincoln’s wildlife.\n\nOpen to all\, no
  experience necessary. We will be walking through fields with tall grass a
 t night. Participants should take all necessary safety precautions against
  poison ivy\, ticks\, etc. Only lights with red filters will be used out i
 n the field. Filters and tape will be provided\, and participants are welc
 ome to bring their own. Our focus will be on wildlife-no pets on this walk
