SUMMARY:On Belonging in Outdoor Spaces: Evelyn Rydz
DESCRIPTION:On Belonging in Outdoor Spaces is a speaker series on access\,
  inclusion\, and connection in nature. This free\, virtual event series is
  hosted by Lincoln Land Conservation Trust\, deCordova Sculpture Park and
  Museum\, Farrington Nature Linc\, The Food Project\, Mass Audubon\, and T
 he Walden Woods Project. Additional support is generously provided by the 
 Ogden Codman Trust\, the Lincoln Garden Club\, and the Bemis Free Lecture 
 Series.\n\nThis speaker series will feature prominent speakers whose work 
 is advancing efforts to strengthen belonging and connection between commun
 ities of color and the benefits of time in nature.  Please join us in wel

 Exploring a creative practice inside and outside the studio\n\nApril 14\, 
 2021 - 7pm ET\n\nExploring the vulnerability and the resiliency of natural
  and cultural ecosystems\, Rydz invites viewers and participants of her pr
 ojects to imagine a different future - one shaped by our connections and c
 are for local and global communities.\n\nEvelyn Rydz creates work across d
 rawing\, photography\, site-responsive installations and participatory com
 munity projects. Her projects explore natural and cultural ecosystems\, th
 eir vulnerability and resilience\, and ways they shape our connections to 
 care\, community\, and perspectives of home\, from local to global. Exampl
 es of her participatory community practice include projects inviting parti
 cipants to share food\, recipes\, and stories with matriarchal meaning (Co
 mida Casera\, since 2016) and mapping and displaying sources of public dri
 nking water\, sites of toxic runoff and communities they impact (The Mouth
 : A Merrimack River Project\, 2020). Rydz received an MFA from SMFA at Tuf
 ts University and is currently an Associate Professor at Massachusetts Col
