DESCRIPTION:Lincoln's Dark Skies Committee welcomes Jane Slade to Bemis Hal
 l for an in-person program on the negative effects of light pollution\, wh
 y dark skies are important for Lincoln\, and what technologies currently e
 xist to solve the problem of light pollution in a way that supports both o
 ur public safety and our wildlife.\n\nThis is free\, public program. All a
 re encouraged to attend.\nCo-hosted by LLCT.\n\n\nJane Slade\, MID\, LC\, 
 IES is a principal at Speclines in Massachusetts\, a lighting manufacturer
 ’s representative agency specializing in public outdoor lighting through
  an interdisciplinary approach of blending design\, science and the latest
  technology. She is a lighting educator and researcher at Anatomy of Night
  (www.anatomyofnight.com)\, researching the many ways in which light impac
 ts our environment\, human health\, wildlife\, biodiversity\, and interdep
 endence. Jane is the host of the podcast Starving for Darkness\, which a
 dvocates for sustainable lighting and was accepted into the 2021 Progress 
 Report of the IES. Jane Slade is the International Dark-Sky Association’
 s 2021 Dark Sky Defender for North America\, and a Richard Kelly Grant rec
 ipient for explorations into the social and emotional impacts of light and
  lighting\, through her work in creating lighting fixtures from waste mate
 rials in India\, and through art installations focused on manipulating emo
 tional experiences with light and color. She is a contributor to LD+A on t
 he topic of Wildlife\, and is currently writing a book about the natural d
 aylight cycle. In her spare time\, she is a yoga teacher.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n
