SUMMARY:Summer Fern Walk
DESCRIPTION:Ellen and Jim Meadors will lead a 1-2 mile fern walk. We will t
 ake a fairly slow pace\, stopping frequently to look at different plant sp
 ecimens. Participants will leave with the basic fern ID terminology and th
 e tools to ID ferns on their own.\n\nThis is a free program\, but space is
  limited. Please register to reserve your spot.\n\nWalk location\, parking
  details\, and weather updates will be emailed to participants. We will mo
 stly stay on the trail\, but please bring water\, sun protection\, tick pr
 otection\, etc. No dogs.\n\nEllen and Jim are both fern enthusiasts and co
 unt fern species on almost every walk or hike they take. Ellen was taught 
 to identify ferns by her father when she was a child. She taught Jim and t
 hey have both improved their skills over the years by taking classes at th
 e Native Plant Trust and studying field guides. They have seven species of
  ferns growing in their yard.
