Wild Lupine (Lupinus perennis): Grows 1-3 ft, in well-drained moist to dry soil, and sun to part-sun. Blooms from April-June, showy clusters of blue-purple, pea-like flowers, occasionally pink or white. Member of the pea family, Lupines enhance soil fertility by fixing nitrogen. Provides nectar in spring, is the exclusive food source for the federally-listed Karner blue butterfly, and also larval host to the Frosted elfin butterfly. 3.5” pot, $4.
