LLCT and the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) are partnering to provide trail maintenace on part of a Bay Circuit Trail connection in Lincoln, as well as to provide invasives removal at the People for Pollinators meadow site. Some of the work will include removing debris, filling holes, clearing the tread of the trail, and cutting back Bittersweet and other invasive plants.
To participate, please register in advance at the AMC site.
What Should I Expect? (Taken from the AMC website.)
A typical work party starts at 9am and runs no later than about 4pm, or earlier depending on how fast we finish the tasks at hand. Participants bring their own lunch, water, snacks, long pants (no matter how hot it is!), sturdy hiking boots, and other clothing appropriate for the weather (projects run rain or shine!). The AMC Trail Crew Leaders will provide all personal protective equipment, trail tools, instruction and supervision. No experience is required to participate, but we encourage beginners and experienced trail volunteers alike. Programs are suitable for individuals, small groups and families with children 12 years and older.
Note: While AMC staff are organizing this event, LLCT staff will also be on hand assisting.
Where Will We Meet?
Park in the lot at the Smith Building at the Lincoln Public Schools on Ballfield Road off of Lincoln Road in Lincoln, MA. Meet at the People for Pollinators sign.
