Mindfulness Walks in Nature on the First Tuesdays through June

When

Tuesday, February 6, 2018 - Tuesday, June 5, 2018
1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Event Type

June 5th Walk Postponed. The last walk has been rescheduled to next Tuesday, June 12th at 1pm at Bergen-Culver.

Sponsored with Lincoln’s Council on Aging, join us for any or all of these walks on Tuesdays March 6, April 3, May 1 and June 5 beginning at 1 pm. The experience is about the journey and not the destination! Connect with nature through walking in a mindful way. Unplug, disconnect from the world for a while and let your senses come alive in nature.

Walk with naturalist John Calabria in some of Lincoln’s most beautiful places.  Meeting locations will be determined by trail conditions and posted to our website two weeks ahead of each walk. Walks are organized for those who are 55+, but all are welcome.

Choose footwear and clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Walking sticks or walking poles can help for stability, if you have them.

In case of inclement weather, call the LLCT’s general line at 781-259-9251 after 10AM the morning of the walk for direction.

About John Calabria.

John is a certified Wellness Educator who teaches mindfulness yoga and spirituality in West Concord. Years ago John left a successful engineering career to help people find joy in their lives, and feel more connected to this most beautiful part of the world we live in. John spends as much time as possible in nature, including caring for 60 bluebird nest boxes with his friend Ray, who is 88 years old.

John spoke in October 2017 at the LLCT’s panel on Aging in Nature that was also sponsored with Lincoln’s Council on Aging, as well as with Newbury Court and The Commons. In the weeks that followed, John lead three walks on Lincoln’s trails as part of the series. His walks were so popular that we are featuring a follow up series this winter and spring. We hope you will join us.
