Free (donations appreciated). All are Welcome. Family-Friendly.

Turtles are amazing reptiles that have been around for more than 200 million years, longer than crocodiles and snakes! Meet a snapping turtle, box turtle, painted turtle and more at this family-friendly program, and learn how we can help these amazing animals continue to flourish in Lincoln.

At this program, representatives from the Turtle Rescue League  will share information on what to do when you find a turtle in your backyard or in the road. We will also learn what steps to take when faced with an injured turtle, baby turtle, or turtle nest that is imperiled.

By helping turtles navigate a rapidly changing world, we can help ensure their path to the future!

The Turtle Rescue League (TRL) is a non-profit organization committed to helping turtles through education, conservation, rehabilitation, and incubation programs. Founded in 2009, the organization focuses on protecting New England’s native turtle species. TRL has a rescue vehicle and is busy throughout the spring and summer responding to calls and providing transportation for turtles to their rehabilitation sanctuary or a turtle hospital. As a secondary part of their work, TRL will provide advice about non-native turtle species and assistance to turtle pet owners.
