2018 is the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System Act and the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. The American Hiking Society has declared the first Saturday in June each year to be National Trails Day. Today, June 2, 2018, we celebrate our own network of over 80 miles of beautiful trails nestled into just 15 square miles of Lincoln. “Every trail beckons adventure and has a story to share with any person willing to discover it…” (quoted from the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day website).
