Dr. James Lowenthal gave a wonderful presentation on January 13, 2022 to a virtual audience of more than 50 community members. Lowenthal spoke about the encroachment of light pollution in Lincoln, despite dark sky efforts several years ago. The lost of dark nights has negative impacts on all living creatures, as even diurnal species (such as humans!) need dark nights to sleep and rebuild cells.
Interested parties can support MA state legislation in support of dark skies, and reach out to their local administrators to recommend steps that can be taken to reduce light pollution locally.
