LLCT is an active participant on the Native Pollinator Task Force of the MetroWest Conservation Alliance, which is sponsoring this upcoming event on the “People-Plant-Pollinator Connection”. In 2020, LLCT will be launching a new initiative to establish pollinator corridors in Lincoln. We are working with Dr. Robert Gegear, the featured speaker at this event, and there will be opportunities to engage on this topic locally in the months ahead. Stay tuned for further information in the new year!

What’s the Buzz? The People-Plant-Pollinator Connection

A Presentation by Dr. Robert J. Gegear

Dr. Robert Gegear, biologist and professor at UMass Dartmouth, will speak about the interdependent relationship between native plants and pollinators, and the critical role both play in a healthy ecosystem. Dr. Gegear will also provide great recommendations for homeowners looking to enhance their gardens, fields, and woods to support native pollinators.

The MCA is a regional coalition of conservation groups from communities in MetroWest. The Native Pollinator Task Force aims to shed more light on the issues facing our native pollinators and encourages homeowners to create more habitat for pollinators. The ultimate goal is to establish 30,000 acres of pollinator habitat in the region in the coming years.
